The difference in net worth between Black and white households is wide and increasing. It recently increased by 38% between 2019 and 2022, rising from $841,900 to $1.15 million. This increase, based on the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Consumer Finances, significantly exceeded inflation during the same period.*
